THE GUARDIAN: Dongban-Mensen canvasses stiffer penalties, enforcement of traffic offences

KRSD was established by its Founder, Hon. Justice Monica B. Dongban-Mensem. This was as a result of the sudden death of her son KWAPDA’AS Rangna’an Samson Dongban in a motor crash in Jos. He was knocked down by a reckless motorist who ran and left him to bleed to death. Ten years since the unfortunate demise of Kwapda’as, the story has not changed much. Stories of needless deaths caused by ‘hit and run’ still abound today as can easily be attested to by a visit to emergency wards of various hospitals in Nigeria. The aim of the week-long 10th anniversary is to step up awareness on road safety in order to stem the tide of the numerous avoidable deaths
